About Yum Yum Yarns

Ian Pullen

As the geek husband of a lifelong knitter and crocheter, I know how exciting a simple skein of yarn can be to someone with a passion to create with hook or needles. In fact, as a child, I once knitted a seemingly never ending scarf - someone else cast on and I had no idea how to cast off.

My wife Kate never ceases to amaze me with her ability to pick up yarn and hook or needles and produce something fantastic without ever referring to a pattern, other than the one in her head.

Actually there was one slightly less than fantastic item - a knitted jerkin with silvery flecks, that I always assumed was an attempt to make me less attractive to the opposite sex. How she expected to improve on nature, I have no idea.

Kate also possesses a number of spinning wheels and enjoys few things as much as spinning her own yarn and then knitting or crocheting it up into a finished item. However, time doesn't always allow this and so she does, on those occasions, turn to Etsy.

Etsy is a truly fantastic resource for all things handmade and crafty and its growth from start-up to established international brand has been a joy to watch. Whatever you want craftwise, you'll find it on Etsy.

Actually, there's now so much stuff on Etsy that, if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself being distracted and heading off on all sorts of tangents rather than searching for the item you actually visited Etsy for. Shiny objects have a similar effect on me too!

Hence the reason for YumumYarns.com - a site that links to Etsy's API and just displays yarns. Actually, because the site looks for listings that include the word yarns, you may occasionally find that other items will appear in the listings.

Just to add a little more icing to the cake, we've added in some search features to make it as easy as possible to find the right kind of yarn for your project. If you've any ideas on how this could be further inproved, please do get in touch and tell us about it.

We hope that enjoy using the site and find it a useful way to find great yarns on Etsy.

All the best

Ian Pullen

On these pages, you'll find the range of yarns that Etsy sellers are currently selling. We update these listings several times every day, to keep you up to date with new additions to Etsy.

On each item, you'll see a find similar yarns link that will open options to find other yarns from the same seller or yarns that contain similar color or fibers.

At the top of the page, you can quickly search for items by keywords. If you click the More search options text, you'll be given options to search for items of a specific color, weight or by price range. We also offer the option to search for yarns that contain the most popular fiber types and that can be posted to a specific country.
